Single Variety Co have been announced as this year’s top winner of the Artisan World Marmalade Awards 2025 with our Amalfi Lemon Marmalade, making it the best marmalade in the world.

Beating over 3,000 entries from more than 30 countries worldwide including USA, Japan, Greece and Iran. The artisan jars are judged by an expert panel and our Amalfi Lemon Marmalade was awarded the highest score and the Double Gold Award.

Nicola Elliott, founder of Bristol based Single Variety Co will be presented with the award at a Presentation Ceremony on Friday 25th April at Dalemain, Cumbria.

“I’ve always been really proud of our Amalfi Lemon Marmalade which we make using fresh Amalfi Lemons.  Hand cut and cooked in small batches the same way as you would at home. I’m so pleased it’s been recognised as the best in the world!” Nicola Elliott, Founder, Single Variety Co

‘The Artisan marmalades we judged this year have been of exceptionally high standards. This really is a competition of the giants of the preserving world. I know that Single Variety Co will have huge success with their wonderful marmalade which was very justifiably recognised as the top jar in the competition.’ Beatrice Hasell-McCosh, Director of the Marmalade Awards

What are the Awards?

The Dalemain World Marmalade Awards were founded in 2005 to help to preserve, grow and widen one of the most British of customs – marmalade making. From small beginnings they have grown into an internationally recognized event. The Awards have sister festivals in both Japan and Australia.

The Awards have humour and a life of their own and have inspired people from all over the world to get involved. Every year around 3,000 jars of marmalade are sent from countries as far away as Hawaii, New Zealand, South Korea, Botswana, Japan, Australia and Georgia, while the Artisan Marmalade competition has helped to promote small producers around the world. Judged by a small panel of experts, Dalemain roundels denote marmalade of exemplary quality.
